Complaints about a school

Athena-GEP endeavours to provide the best education possible for all of its pupils in an open and transparent environment. We welcome any feedback that we receive from parents, pupils and third parties, and we accept that not all of this will be positive.

We have therefore introduced a policy which details how we will handle complaints.  This policy is available on the Key Information page

Please use this form to complain about one of Athena-GEP' schools. Please use the "other complaints" form to complain about the Athena-GEP head office, the SCITT, the Teaching School, a headteacher, or a Trustee/Governor/Member.

Teacher Assessed Grades (TAGs)

Complaints about the award of Teacher Assessed Grades (“TAGs”) as part of the 2021 Summer Exam series are outside the scope of the trust’s complaints policy and will be considered under the published appeals process regarding TAGs for each Athena-GEP secondary school. This relates to Fullbrook School, George Abbot School and Kings College Guildford only. This is save for where matters relate to TAGs but lie outside of the remit of this TAG appeal process and at the express discretion of the relevant school e.g.:

1. any decision to withdraw an entry due to insufficient evidence on which to determine a TAG, or not to make an entry in the first place;

2. any failure or delay in offering or following the published appeals process for the school.

Any continuing concerns following completion of this complaints process may subsequently be raised through the awarding organisation’s complaints process.

This is in line with section 6.2 of JCQ Appeals Guidance for Summer-2021.
